How we bring goods in from China

Since 2019 we've delivered over 100 import projects a year — from single pallets in LCL groupage to steady service for clients receiving dozens of containers annually. We work directly with carriers and consolidators in China's main ports: Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Dalian and Xiamen.

Ocean, rail or air — which to choose?

ModeApprox. transit timeWhen it pays off
FCL sea freight (full container)approx. 35–45 daysloads from ~15 m³, best unit cost
LCL sea freight (groupage)approx. 40–50 dayssmaller batches, you pay for the actual volume
Rail freightapprox. 18–25 daysa compromise of time and cost, terminals in Poland
Air freightapprox. 5–8 daysurgent and high-value goods

Transit times depend on the season (they can stretch before Chinese New Year and in the autumn peak) and the port of departure. In our quotes we always give a current, realistic date — not a catalogue one.

What our service covers

How much does transporting a container from China cost?

Freight rates change from week to week, which is why we don't publish a price list that would be out of date tomorrow. The cost depends on the port of departure, the container type (20'/40'/40'HC), the season and whether the load needs extra services. Send an inquiry via the form — within 24 hours you'll get a specific, itemised quote: freight, port charges, clearance, domestic transport, taxes.

Frequently asked questions

FCL or LCL — when to choose which?

The rough break-even point is about 13–15 m³. Below that, LCL groupage is usually cheaper; above it, your own 20' container. For regular shipments we'll calculate both options and show the threshold for your goods.

What documents are needed for customs clearance?

Typically: a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading (B/L) and — depending on the goods — certificates (e.g. CE), declarations and certificates of origin. We guide the client through the full set of formalities, including on a first import.

Will I pay duty and VAT?

Duty depends on the goods' tariff code (from 0% to a dozen or so percent); import VAT is normally 23% on the value of the goods including freight and duty. At the quote stage we'll identify the correct CN code and calculate the full landed cost, so nothing surprises you.

Do you handle a company's very first import?

Yes — and we do it often. You get a single point of contact who explains every step, and a set of documents prepared to clear customs without hold-ups.
